50 Millisecond is the collaboration of singer/songwriter Mark Marinozzi (vocals, laptop) with various and exceptionally talented musicians from the San Francisco Bay Area, including James Chatterton (guitar, bass), Steve Gotlieb (guitars), Dave Ruedger (guitar, engineering), Kevin Webber and Tim DeGaugh (drums) and other kindred spirits.
Inspired by timeless lyricists like Neil Young, Brian Wilson, John Lennon and bands like U2, Nirvana, Foo Fighters and Pink Floyd, 50 Millisecond constructs songs that communicate the edge of emotions but always at an intellectual level.
The new album of these efforts will be Artifacts Of Reality, which will be released in 2014.
Exit, 50 Millisecond’s debut album, was produced by Mark and engineered by Dave and Drew Youngs (Earthwire). It featured Scott Jamar on bass, Kevin Weber on drums with some additional lead guitar work by Chris Rigatuso. Exit highlights observations on love, lust, war, longing and regret, with persistent lyrics and powerful guitar surges.
As for the name...
A study by Canadian researchers found that the brain can make decisions in just fifty milliseconds. That is the equivalent of one frame of video, or half the blink of an eye. It’s that tiny space in time where many decisions of what we do as human beings are made, and the whole of mankind’s path is bound up in those fleeting moments. The stories of how people’s lives are so greatly affected by such small moments in time make up the songs of 50 Millisecond.
